Born and raised in town of Bardejov, Czechoslovakia, now the Slovak Republic, Europe. The town is one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. I was lucky to have an amazing childhood with my five siblings and I was fortunate to be surrounded by a lot of remarkable people. My amazing mother Anna and father Adam included. I liked all kinds of sports - from summer soccer, to winter skiing. Sometimes, just for fun I enjoyed taking a wooden pencil and draw some sketches and doodles.
Technically educated, which included the study of
technical drawings. Additionally, I studied a little bit an
International business management. I enjoy philosophy as well. I traveled around the world, to recognize who we are, where we are from and where we are going to... No answer yet. This is a secret of our lives... Fortunately or unfortunately...
Finally married with a beautiful woman Elizabeth and have had a beloved son Lukas, who is already married to his wife Lenka. They were blessed with a little baby Stella, mine and Elizabeth's granddaughter. We all live in Canada nowadays.
The philosophy of my life is very simple: "Live and let live."
The highest value: "A Humanity."
The message for people in power: "We don't have enemies in the Universe to this day and we are still killing each other on planet Earth. There is no reason for that. Without the Humanity we can't move forward like a civilization. Think about that for a while..."
I use many different mediums, such as pencils, watercolors, carbon colors, acrylics, pastels and my Wacom as well. I like to work with wood, steel, simply with almost everything, what is giving me a chance to create something that looks nice to me and the others. I am still thinking about this: When somebody is able to use a simple pencil and a piece of paper to create something, that individual is usable for many kinds of work. In many cases in this modern era the "lack of electricity" on your computer may results in the lack of creativity. This means, that every software is a great help (for me as well), but knowing how to use a simple pencil and a piece of paper when the computer is not working, is still a piece of art. Like my son says: "Simply an old man from an old school." Anyway, I try to stay the same and unique.
On the other hand I believe, that every human being is gifted by our creator in some way - art included. I think, that everyone of us is born with some talent for something. Poor or rich - doesn't matter. All kids deserve a chance for their own development. Unfortunately in many cases it's about good, or bad luck. We can't choose before our birth, where we want to be born. For this reason we should be thinking about this much more, because nothing lasts forever.
I enjoy hiking in my spare time and many of my pictures are directly influenced by these hikes in nature. I love wildlife in my work. I like history too. Especially about aboriginal people. In Canada - I admire Native Indians who were able to survive in such tough conditions for centuries. Truly amazing.
I like to talk to them about their lives. When I get a chance, I try to spend as much time as possible with these people. Having dialogues with over 100 year old native teachers give me an inspiration for weeks ahead. The talks are about everything - from history, culture, education, hunting to using old medicines, etc. Some people can't even imagine their understanding of life in the nature . We are just trying to explore something, what they have known for centuries...They have earned my respect.
My another inspiration are kids. They are very sincere and when they don't like something, they are saying it directly: "I don't like it." Or: "I like it." It's a big difference between adults and kids. Working for them is much more joyous. They are more honest and more trustful. I like such audience and such "customers". There is nothing nicer like childhood. Everything after, is much tougher.
